Service & Affiliate members are now entitled to a 6 cent/litre fuel discount at all United Service Stations throughout Tasmania on producing your RSL Membership card issued from State Branch.

ANZAC Day services conducted throughout the Northern Midlands district in 2017 were very well attended. Feedback from the public was very positive. The only downside was that some Dawn Services were held indoors, which drew a bit of criticism. Members can be assured that rain, hail or shine services will be conducted outdoors from next year onwards.

Your Sub Branch Committee has been busy over the past year.

Our fundraising activities have included the Sausage Sizzles at “Bunning’s North” on the first Wednesday of each month and the sales of our ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day Poppy merchandise, Hamburger stall, New Year’s Day at the Longford Races and the Longford Show bar.

Remembrance Day 2018 brings to a close the commemorations of the Centenary of ANZAC.  The Sub Branch will be conducting a special Commemorative/Celebration Service followed by various activities on the Village Green at Longford.

More information will be promulgated closer to the event.

A successful congress was held at Country Club Casino on the 20th May 2017.

The Congress was preceded by a dinner held on Friday 19th, where 170 delegates and friends attended.

A highlight of the Congress for the Northern Midlands RSL Sub Branch was the awarding of ‘LEAGUE LIFE MEMBERSHIP’ to Brian Harper, our long serving Secretary.

FUNDRAISING

Our Sausage Sizzles at Bunnings North are now on the first Wednesday of each month. We are outside the main entrance. If you can spare a couple of hours to help out, or maybe a day or two during the year, please let the Secretary know.  (You don’t have to be a committee member)

SUB BRANCH MEETINGS

Our monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, commencing at 1930hrs at the Longford RSL Memorial  Club. (Unless otherwise notified).
Members are encouraged to attend to see how things are being run and to put new ideas for events etc up for discussion.
